The Cheapest Group Activities for Students Across the UK

The cost of living may be rising, but there’s always been great deals in place for students. From free entry at lots of museums and parks, to cheaper drinks and food discounts, there’s always a way to find something low cost to do.

We’ve listed some of the best discounts available across all areas of the UK, as well as some that are specific to certain cities. And remember, if you’re looking for crazy golf student discounts remember we do 50% off at off-peak times – where you can play for £4.25 per game!

STUDENT DISCOUNTS ACROSS THE WHOLE OF THE UK:

TENPIN BOWLING

As a student you’ll receive 50% off standard priced bowling at any Tenpin Bowling centre, from 6:00pm on Sunday to 5:00pm Friday. With the standard pricing already starting at £3 per game, you’re going to get a pretty decent deal.

Located all across the UK, whether you live you’re more than likely to find a Tenpin centre nearby and they don’t just offer bowling – there’s arcades, table tennis, pool tables, karaoke and more to keep you entertained.

GO APE

Fancy seeing more of the outdoors? Then Go Ape’s tree-top playground promises an exhilarating adventure that will push you out of your comfort zone.

Aside from London, where you can visit Go Ape at Battersea Park, you’ll usually find them located around a 20 minute drive from city centres – basically, where there are plenty of trees!

THE CINEMA

It may seem like an obvious one, but cinemas offer some of the best student discounts around. Odeon provides 25% student discount, Vue have £4 cinema tickets every Monday (as well as other student deals), Cineworld often have tickets as low as £3, as well as free snacks and even the more boujee places like Everyman Cinema offer money off.

For most cinemas, you can select student discount when booking online, which will then automatically apply your saving.

LONDON STUDENT DISCOUNTS:

THE CRYSTAL MAZE

If you’re looking for the ultimate group experience, then it can’t get any more fun than The Crystal Maze experience.

You can save almost £40 on tickets with a valid student card at the London venue, almost half the normal ticket price depending on when you book.

They also have a Manchester venue, where student prices start from £20 per ticket.

THE LONDON EYE

If you’ve never visited The London Eye then now is your chance to get everyone together and see the city, at a discounted rate.

Another one where becoming a member of Student Beans, free of charge, is going to bag you a decent saving – students can save 35% off tickets.

LONDON DUNGEONS

London Dungeons is so much more than you’d expect it to be and really doesn’t disappoint. If you’re in to your scares, appreciate fancy dress and want to go on a wild ride, then London Dungeons is a fun day out.

Discounted tickets can be purchased through Student Beans, where you can add The London eye on and make it a package.

MANCHESTER STUDENT DISCOUNTS:

BRICKHOUSE SOCIAL

If you’re a student in Manchester and you’ve not been to Brickhouse Social yet, then where have you been? They host free events, from rooftop open mic nights to comedy shows, free pool for students and pints for £2.50.

If we were still students, we’d pretty much live in the place. All you need to show up with a valid student card, and they will sort the rest.

CHILL FACTORE

Fancy a snowy day out even when there’s no snow, then head down to Manchester’s Chill Factore. It has the UK’s biggest indoor snow slope, but even if you’re not into skiing or snowboarding, there’s still penty do. Have a group snowball fight, go sledging and more.

Chill Factore offers students 20% of selected bookings.

LEEDS STUDENT DISCOUNTS:

WHISTLE PUNKS

Another one for Student Beans members (again, it’s free to become one) you can save 20% of axe throwing from Sunday – Friday.

They also hold student nights on a Wednesday, where with a valid ID you get axe throwing for 70 minutes as well as one drink for £15.

GRAVITY

If an active group activity is what you’re looking for, then bouncing around on a warehouse full of trampolines should be on your to do list. You can’t book in advance, however they will offer 50% off walk-in prices for all students, along as they have the space.

Best to go in the week when the kids are at school – that way you’re almost guaranteed to get a space and you can enjoy a much emptier venue.

You can also make the most of Gravity’s student deals at their Liverpool location.

LIVERPOOL STUDENT DISCOUNTS:

BIERKELLER

Another venue that always has plenty going on and generally has a great atmosphere is The Bierkeller. They offer 50% off food Monday – Friday, as well as £3 pints and £3.75 doubles. Even on Saturdays and Sundays they offer decent discounts for students.

PAINT BALLING
